Production Technician (Temp-Perm)
Summary
The Production Technician (electronic assembly) is responsible for the assembly, inspection, testing, and repair of electronic products in accordance with established procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements. This position supports production operations while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and safety.
What You'll Do
Assembly and Installation
Assemble electronic components and subassemblies according to work instructions, technical drawings, and specifications.
Install cable harnesses, printed circuit boards (PCBs), and mechanical components into finished products.
Use hand tools and assembly equipment safely and efficiently.
Soldering
Perform manual soldering operations in accordance with industry standards (IPC or equivalent).
Ensure the quality and reliability of solder joints.
Inspection and Testing
Visually inspect assemblies or use magnifying equipment.
Perform basic functional tests using appropriate instruments.
Report any non-conformities or deviations.
Repair and Touch-up
Identify defects and carry out approved repairs or touch-ups.
Replace defective components as needed.
Documentation and Compliance
Follow operational procedures (SOP), quality standards (e.g. ISO) and safety rules. Complete production documentation accurately. Keep a clean and organized workstation.
Who You Are
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience in electronic assembly is an asset.
Skills and Abilities
Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Ability to read assembly drawings or basic instructions.
Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently and in a team.
Physical Requirements
The ability to perform repetitive manual tasks.
The ability to stand or sit for long periods.
The ability to occasionally lift up to approximately 25 lb.
Adequate vision (corrected if necessary) to perform precision work.
