Improving indoor air quality improves indoor comfort. Beyond that, it can offer occupants longer, healthier lives,  and increase productivity.

On average, people spend around 90% of their time indoors. A recent report by the US National Academy of Sciences again underscored the importance of indoor air quality to public health and wellbeing, with wide-ranging implications in terms of energy efficiency, outdoor air quality, climate change, and environmental justice.

At Belimo, we are committed to increasing indoor health and comfort through our complete and innovative range of HVAC field devices that positively impact indoor air quality.

This is reflected in the growing overall share of female employees as well as initiatives including our disability-employment scheme and the employment of three Ukrainian refugees at our Hinwil headquarters.

Continuous skill development

Well-trained employees are essential to providing customer value. As part of our commitment to supporting our staff in developing individual specialist expertise, we have expanded our online and instructor-led programs to provide varied learning environments to our employees, including leadership workshops and external training at the renowned IMD Business School in Lausanne.

Sustainable supply chain

Upstream suppliers are mission-critical to our business model, sustainability mission, and quality-first values. That’s why we go to great lengths to minimise the environmental impact of our upstream supply chain. In addition to kicking off the implementation of a new supply chain strategy with a focus on CO2 footprint reduction, we have increased the purchasing volume from ISO 14001 / 9001 certified suppliers, as outlined in our 2022 annual report.

Belimo Climate Foundation

Through the "Belimo Climate Foundation," Belimo supports non-profit institutions and non-governmental organisations in reducing CO2 emissions from their buildings. This raises awareness of the great leverage that building renovations have in achieving climate targets. 

Para-athlete sponsorship

Belimo supported top Swiss hand-cyclist and para-cycling athlete Sandra Stöckli on her journey to becoming the world champion in her discipline in 2022. So far, this journey has included stops at the 2016 Rio de Janeiro and 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games (held in 2021).
